"There's no excuse for the young people not knowing who the heroes and heroines are or were." Nina Simone
Insanely sexual and divine voice. It's silk.
My heart goes to Nic for bringing this back into my life.
Love.

"A true friend stabs you in the front...." Oscar Wilde
I haven't posted for a while; this is for a number of reasons:
1) lazy
2) uni (a little)
3) the flu
4) Splendour
5) lack of inspiration
Splendour was a great weekend. The highlights were Kanye, Thievery Corporation, James Blake DJ set and Coldplay..... and finally seeing Modest Mouse was a real blessing.
This is a post of songs, clips... images. It's the entry back into blogging.
This D'Angelo - Untitled. I am normally not really a die-hard fan of this rnb genre. But this song is probably one of the most sexy songs ever. It's quite beautiful.
This next track is an old personal favourite. It's by Handsome Boy Modelling School. This track is called "The Truth", it's got a cool vibe to it, her voice is silky.
This next song is self-explainable. A loss of a voice.
I'm a closet Coldplay fan. I was super excited to see them live. Chris Martin is one of the most enigmatic front men I have had the pleasure and privelege of experiencing. They played so much off Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head, which are primarily the only two albums of which I listen to tracks off... in my secluded room... alone... However, Everything's Not Lost is a wonderful, beautiful song... and I'm happy to have seen/witnessed it. His short-emotional tribute to Amy Winehouse at the close of their set was a memorable experience, one of those rare "festival moments" that you hope to remember.
I have wanted to see Modest Mouse for a long time. They were incredible. Everyone who I was with was so chilled out and I was running around having a blast. It probably annoyed them, but I was just so excited to be there.
This track is called Edit the Sad Parts
It's old, and they didn't play it. But I want to share it.
Peace and love and energy.

Teardrop
With Nic's return came the inevitable influx of new tunes on offer. The kid is an encyclopedia of new/old/great music; and this is probably my favourite of his offers to me. I liked Robert Mitchell after hearing him on Gilles' radio show, but I hadn't heard this insane cover, and also found his music really hard to find... because I am pretty novice.
Anyway,
this is a cover of Massive Attack's classic Teardrop... It's incredibly well done, and a real tribute to an already mind-blowing tune.
It's stuff like this that makes music so baffling and incredible to me.
Robert Mitchell 3io - Teardrop:
The original:
And this is an MJ Cole track that my friends Cieran and Jimmy think sounds alike to the aforementioned track. I can see where they are coming from, in a dubstep way.
MJ Cole - Manta:

Love and stuff.

Ill
I'm ill. And I don't know what else can make me feel better except for....
Sorry I've been MIA for a while, there was Nic's return and Hong Kong. And a serious lack of tunes at the moment. I'm open to suggestions. Love always.
